WORLD'S MOST RETARDED GOAL

The world's strangest goal was scored over the weekend in London after a young fan threw an inflatable beach ball onto the field. Sunderland striker Darren Bent had a shot on goal which hit the beach ball and ricocheted off of it and into the back of the goal.

Darren Bent is claiming the goal as his own, and the freak strike handed Sunderland the match, 1 - 0.

It's rediculous that this goal was allowed! If a fan threw a cricket ball onto the MCG which resulted in a run out it wouldn't count, so how can a fan/beach ball assisted goal win you the match?

What do you think, should the goal have been allowed or canceled out due to an object being on the field?

Another solid performance from Liverpool again last night. Losing in injury time. No beach ball on the pitch or anything. Four losses in a row in all competitons. Silverware bound.

i don't really care who was dominating at the time, as a liverpool fan i was out raged that this was allowed, rules state that if a goal is scored by the result of an outside force that the goal is disallowed. the ball is taken back to half way and a drop ball occurs

straight up shouldnt be allowed, game should have been stopped to get the ball off the field. doesnt matter if Sunderland were floggin Liverpool, that try was bull****

Sunderland were all over them the whole game anyway. They deserved to win. Bent for golden boot.... ;-)
