The Aussies squandered a great opportunity to put themselves in the 2011 Asian Cup finals, after coughing up a 2-0 lead to eventually draw the match against Kuwait.
China, Iran, Japan, Bahrain and the UAE
qualified for the 2011 Asian Cup finals on Wednesday, but Australia now must wait until March when they play Indonesia to see if we make it through. The Socceroos need to draw or win the upcoming match in Brisbane to go through to the finals.
After the Kuwait match Australia made an official complaint to the match referees about the Kuwaiti crowd deliberately targeting the Socceroos players with lasers during the draw.
