Footage has been released from Such Is Life, Ben Cousins' documentary on his now infamous drug habbits.

The documentary gives a stunning insight into the former Brownlow Medalist's drug-fueled, hard-partying lifestyle. Cousins and the film's makers hope that Such is Life will help other to see the dangers of drugs.

Officials from both Richmond and the AFL, including AFL supremo Andrew Demetriou, have seen a preview of the film and decided not to make any attempts at blocking its release.

Such is Life will be screened by Channel 7 at some stage during this year's AFL season. The documentary's title comes from the tattoo that Cousins' has across his stomach.

Cousins' playing future is still up in the air. The Tigers have yet to say whether they want to resign the former six-time All-Australian and it's unclear whether other AFL clubs have much interest.

Cousins became a star at West Coast during the late-1990s and early 2000s. The talented centre won a Brownlow Medal and a Premiership with the club before being booted after the 2007 season. After spending a year away from the game, including a brief stint in drug rehab, Cousins was signed by Richmond in late 2008.
