ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN FOOTBALL!

They say that Australia doesn’t have the firepower to win a World Cup but if we’ve learnt anything from South Africa, it’s that anything can happen in the great game they call football.
Look at Australia’s arch-rivals Italy and France. Both teams played-off in the 2004 World Cup final with the marshmallow soft Italians diving their way to a historic victory. But four years later, and both teams made early first round exits from the competition.
Then along came the Netherlands in an orange haze and stomped on Brazil’s dreams of yet another Cup.
The biggest shock so far has been dealt to Maradona and his cup favorites Argentina, who had their pants pulled down to their ankles and were bent over the German’s knee for an arse-reddening 4-0 spanking.
The thing that gives Australia hope that a cup isn’t so far off is the fact that Uruguay are still in the running! Eight years ago, they knocked us out of World Cup contention, and then 4 years ago, we stopped them from qualifying.
The Uruguayans have been a bench mark for Australia over the last 8 years, and with the South Americans one game away from a World Cup final, it proves that anything can happen on game day. Now, the Aussies will be giving it another crack in four years time when we head off to Brazil.
THE ITALIANS SHED A TEAR AS THE EXIT FROM THE GROUP STAGE.

MARADONA LETS MESSI KNOW THAT HE STILL LOVES HIM AFTER THEIR LOSS TO GERMANY.

THE DUTCH MAKE LOVE WHILE THE BRAZILLIANS WIPE AWAY THOSE TEARS.

With Uruguay, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands left, who do you think will take out this year’s World Cup?
