A US man hard up for a root has been jailed for three years after being caught on video shagging a horse.

Rodell Vereen was sentenced on Wednesday after pleading guilty to buggery, and the juged ordered Vereen to seen counselling and stay well away from the Lazy B stables when released.

Cops charged Vereen after the owner of the horse set up a camera and caught him on tape shagging her prize steed. Days later the owner staked out the stable and caught Vereen sneaking into the barn with intentions of another roll in the hay but she held him at shotgun point until police arrived.

Vereen had pleaded guilty last year to having sex with the same horse and was put on probation and ordered to register as a sex offender.
