Tough-as-nails teen Riley Pigott was smashed by a car while riding his bike in Newcastle, NSW — the impact not only launched him ten metres down the road, but it tore the skin clean off his left leg.

“The ambulance driver had the sense to look for the missing skin, and found it attached to the headlight protector of the car, all in one neat slab,” the 14-year-old says, cheerfully.

“At the hospital, they de-fatted the skin, stored it for a week and then re-attached it. It took 300 stitches.”

The docs say it was the biggest “de-gloving” of skin they’d ever dealt with. We say it’s one hell of a war wound.
