Generally an electric shaver leaves our neck looking rashier than Callum from Master Chef during a pressure test challenge! Thanks to the combination of sensitive skin (yep, very manly we know) and the fact that our neck hair grows in about 10 different bloody directions. From past experience we've found out that electric shaver just doesn't seem to cut it when it comes to the neck area. Generally we've spent more time trying to get rogue hairs around the neck area than it would have taken to shave three times with a normal razor. Leaving us to wonder, what's the point!
Well from the first shave with the Braun Series 7 we were surprised at the amount of hair it managed to cut from the very first pass over the face. We were shocked at how easily is ran over the skin, and didn't irritate it at the same time. The press release tells us this is down to something called 'Sonic Technology', which delivers over 10,000 micro-vibrations per second and also features OptiFoil - which has differently sized holes to capture hair growing in different directions. All sounds a big Star Wars to us, but the results were pretty impressive.
1 minute into the shave and the majority of the face has been stripped of all it's manly growth, and we're left with a face that's softer than a baby's backside. Now it's time for the dreaded neck area...
We flick the switch from normal to sensitive (there's three different settings for all skin types) and pray that our neck won't be shreaded to bits as the razor buzzes faster than our ladie's 'best friend'. And POW, no pain, no fuss, as the Braun Series 7 sweeps over the neck and adam's apple removing all the hair with no fuss and leaving us with a smooth all over shave.
So shocked was ZOO man that he then tested the Braun Series 7 out on some longer hair on his arms... not a good move. He now has a huge patch of missing hair from his arm as the shaver had no trouble with the longer stuff as well.
Once done, you simply chuck it into the cleaning dock where the shaver is charged, and cleaned with an alcohol solution (all automatically of course). Oh it also features a trimmer for those Elvis side burns, and can shave cordless for up to 5 hours, although we're not sure why, seeing it only took two minutes to shave our entire face with this bad boy.
In the end, we were very surprised and happy with this shaver. Our neck and face was left rash and hair free, in half the time it takes to shave with a razor. All we've got to do now is keep it hidden from the missus so she doesn't try and steal it for herself.
