A New Zealand academic has discoverd that girls prefer guys who are lean and skinny instead of muscle-bound behemouths. That means your hours of working out and occasionally injecting illegal steroids have all proabably been a waste. Unfortunately, girls don't like guys like us (flabby, out-of-shape, have difficulty walking up stairs) either.

The Shakey Isles researcher, Dr Barnaby Dixon, said: "Women are more likely to pick a leaner, even slightly more effeminate man as they equate those physical traits with being more caring and gentle and therefore a better prospect as a partner."

Dr Dixon has also come up with a maths formula to determine what sort of women men are interested in. Apparently, men area attracted to girls who have a waist that is roughly 70 per cent the size of their hips (frankly, we've never been that picky). Dixon listed Jessica Alba, Victoria's Secret star Alessandra Ambrosio, supermodel Kate Moss and President-rooter Marilyn Monroe as examples... which gives us an excellent excuse to put some photos of them in this post.
