There’s a fine line between chatting up a girl online and being the digital creep that has the ladies rushing to hit the block button. But a lot of guys have no idea why they’ve been blocked, so if you’ve struck out when it comes to chatting to girls in cyberspace, ZOO’s here to help with our guide to talking to women online.

Introduce yourself, and don’t use cheesy or sleazy lines
There’s nothing tackier than bombarding a girl's profile with thousands of cheesy comments you’ve already left on every girls' profile. The best way to get a woman’s attention online is to simply introduce yourself and let her know you’d love to hear back from her if she’s interested. Sure, you’re not going to get a reply from every girl, but you’ll certainly get more replies if you keep your first few comments in your pants!

Subtle compliments are the go
So she’s uploading pics, and she’s no doubt looking to get feedback and comments. This doesn’t mean that you tell her what you want to do when you get her into the boot of your car, with that shovel and bag of ammonia and lime! Guys who leave graphic sexual or psycho messages never get anywhere. Sure they might sound funny, but no girl out there is thinking ‘wow, this guy’s a catch’. Simply let her know you find her attractive, or what you like about the pic. Don’t get graphic or explicit - you’re social networking here, not writing the latest stick flick.

Don’t abuse someone if you don’t get a reply
When it comes to social networking sites, not everyone checks their profiles every second of the day. One mistake some guys make is that they take it personally when they don’t get an instant reply and then post abusive comments. This isn’t going to help your cause, as other users will see these comments and you’ll scare potential cyber-friends off. We’re all busy people and can’t reply to every single comment, so take it in your stride and simply try with another lady. No point chasing an inactive profile!

Listen to a woman’s advice
Its one thing to listen to us blokes giving tips about what girls want to hear when it comes to chatting online, but it’s another to actually have the girls tell you themselves. ZOO’s Sex Blogger babe Ashlee Adams recently did a video blog all about chatting to girls. She’s got plenty of great advice, so be sure to check out her take on what makes a perfect cyber-chat partner.

I think also being too direct can scare or in other cases make you seem like a dumb****. AKA a typical example (with included l33t/lol text)

    "c4n I C uR b00bies"

Not going to happen this way :)
