The only way geeks can become is cool is by building a robot that facilitates your drinking and indolence in one go. One geek has mastered this feat. He goes by the name of Willow Garage and his steel ‘beer fetching’ creation goes by the name of
PR2.
Unbeknownst to us, this isn’t the first beer ‘bot invented. This is the more advanced sibling of the kinds of robots that bring beers; or works behind a bar; or pours glasses of beer. (Who knew these gems existed!)
This new robot is like the uber-hot and uber-intelligent sibling that others are jealous about because it not only fetches you a beer, but it can open beer bottles, distinguish between different beer brands and it adapts to your fridge. And just when you thought this alcoholic android couldn’t get any better, once it gets your particular beer, it recognises your face and props that divine brewski in your hands.
Yes – man has trumped God.
Don’t get too excited, PR2 isn’t up for sale yet but wherever it will be sold in Oz, we’ve already pitched a tent outside.

More sweet stuff
