Passenger seats are overrated. We’ve long wanted to replace the one in the ZOO Mobile with a mini-fridge or perhaps a hot tub — but now Porsche has come up with a better idea.

The 918 RSR has a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) where your girlfriend usually sits.

It’s an electric flywheel that spins at 36,000 rpm and stores the energy usually wasted when you brake — then, when you slap the giant red button on the dash, it delivers an eight-second burst of extreme acceleration.

Between the 419kW V8, the two wheel-mounted electric motors and the KERS system, you’ve got more power than an F1 car at the push of a button.
