What’s your most Rock Star moment? After playing to 10,000 punters at Falls Festival on New Years Eve, Matt and myself had nowhere to sleep, we found a few girls who said they'd help us out but they were too drunk to find their campsite! We spent most of the night wandering around until we found some generous fans who said the four of us could cram into their tents with them, glamorous hey?
Your music goes best with…Pent up angst before a weekend.
What’s your favourite song of the new album, or what’s your favourite song to play live?Safari for both man, four chords and a stupidly fast pace, too fast to dance too even. I just aim myself at the microphone and start screaming.
What’s on your rider or do you have any pre-gig rituals?Nothing too fancy, local beer, water, vodka, champagne and red bull. No pre-gig ritual, i just listen to a bit of at the drive in on my iPod.
Drink of choice? And what’s the most trouble it’s ever gotten you into?Champagne, dude, all kinds of trouble, missed plane fights, kicked out of hotels, really angry boyfriends she neglected to tell me about.
What’s the best gig you’ve ever played? The last one actually, just at a pub in rural Victoria, might not have looked like anything fancy but when we're locking in and I've got the rhythm it’s magic, great to be playing a new batch of tracks.
Ever had a rock related injury? No way dude, we're professionals. I came pretty close to killing myself once on Ketamine but that was AFTER a gig.
What band/s give you the shits?Too many dude, I’d tell you who but you'd print it and next time I’m at a festival I’ll be surrounded.
Funniest groupie proposition/moment?Oh there's been a few, Will seems to get the worst of them though. It's usually the girls who have boyfriends who are the funniest; the shit they put you through to keep it all hidden is pretty hilarious. That said we don't call these people groupies - they're actually the greatest people in the world.
What’s the most evil thing you have ever done?Oh man I shudder to think, we try to keep our heads on straight and not be too nasty to anyone, but some support bands just push our buttons you know....
What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen at a gig/festival?Anytime I see a sign that’s telling us to play something off our EP, that’s some awful music you spent three quarters of an hour advertising young lady.
What’s the worst state you’ve ever left a hotel room in?Not too bad actually, a few empty bottles here and there, bed’s in a mess, I’m more likely to leave my wallet than a big mess.
If you could support any act in the world who would it be and why?The doors, I’d love to have had a drink with Uncle Jim.
Biggest regret?Turning down the Kasabian support last year, not spending enough time in the UK. Not marrying a girl I met in Brisbane a few months ago.
What can punters expect from one of your gigs?Realness! Our gigs are like a hip-hop show we're so real. That and a good party.
