Your music goes best with...
Cheese and crackers with a quality beverage.

What's your favourite song off the new album, or what's your favourite song to play live?
The Unspeakable Scene. We had an amazing time in London working with a 16 piece orchestra who applied their magic to complete that song. The Saddest Thing I Know is currently my fave to belt out on the kit, but only because we haven't played The Unspeakable Scene yet.

What's on your rider or do you have any pre-gig rituals?
A good bottle of rum, vodka, scotch, plenty of beer, wine, fruit and an endless amount of red bull for our loveable sound engineer. God bless his heart...seriously.
I find somewhere around six beers to be a ritual before show time, where as our bassist Anthony finds cleaning his bowels out thirty seconds before we're due on to be a must.

Drink of choice? And what's the most trouble it's ever gotten you into?
I'm partial to a red wine these days, but surely it would have to be the countless beers that get us all into trouble right? Waking up in Melbourne not knowing where I was with no money, no sunnies, a dead phone and a flight to catch in two hours to the next show is probably something I don't plan on doing again.

What's the best gig you've ever played?
Melbourne Big Day Out in 2008 would be high on my list, but so is The Republic Bar in Hobart to 300 people where the venue was the size of my lounge room. Great times.

What's the best thing about chicks in Japan?
I'm a married man but I can safely say, their fashion sense and those tiny bodies.

What band gives you the shits?
Probably Red Hot Chili Peppers. Mothers Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magik were an institution for me, but I just couldn't connect with anything post One Hot Minute.

If you could rid the world of one thing, what would it be and why?
The last ten years worth of Red Hot Chili Peppers material.

Funniest groupie proposition/moment?
This came in the form of quite a diplomatic email from a girl who proposed she join the band as a nude tambourinist. To her credit we gave it serious thought.

What's the most evil thing you have ever done?
Perhaps taunting someone at school who I later found out went on to be institutionalised. I've made amends tho. Kids can be so cruel.

What's the craziest thing you've seen at a gig/festival?
The first thing that comes to mind was seeing (from on stage while playing) an ill fated stage dive attempt from a punter who after a decent run up fell way short of the mark and went head first into a steel barrier. I swear I heard the crunch over the volume of the show.
What's the worst state you've ever left a hotel room in?
We're nice guys, we don't trash our hotel rooms, we trash other peoples! One apartment I remember seeing had smashed bathroom mirrors, water everywhere, the carpets soaked in mud, food and wine, frying pans and ironing boards had been surfed down flights of stairs, holes in walls, smashed glass coffee tables etc. But it's never intentional; bands in general are just messy and clumsy. Never a TV out the window as we would actually like to continue to return to The Four Seasons.

If you could support any act in the world who would it be and why?
We don't support other bands.

Biggest regret?
That last answer.

What can punters expect from one of your gigs?
Our upcoming tour in particular will see a mixture of new selections as well as material that spans over our previous releases, so it will be our most extensive set to date. So that means even more of Kenny's arms and legs flailing about the stage for your buck. We love have to fun with our shows and really dig a good sing along, so if you're not going to get blinded by the new light show, you may just leave with a sore throat.

Birds Of Tokyo's latest self-titled album is out now!
