Type of Game: A stylish first-person shooter where the world’s finest real-life spec-ops teams gun it out.
The Lowdown: The last game was tossed like a grenade into a pile of wannabe first-person war shooters and got forgotten. Now it has exploded back on the shelves and looks undeniably improved, thanks mostly to the addictively-cool Fire Team Multiplayer mode, where the world’s best spec ops teams shoot it out against each other (go the Aussie SASR!). It’s visually superb, the sounds are incredible, and even if you’re fed-up with the somewhat-tiresome genre, it’s tough to put down. Meanwhile, the terrorist-blasting campaign is based in realistic Middle East warzones, and more intense than stumbling pissed as a fart through a minefield.
Zoo Says: If Battlefield 3 was C4 and Modern Warfare 3 was a grenade, it’s like they exploded simultaneously and magically spawn this surprisingly-powerful shooter.
