An all-new playcalling system has cut the average time it takes to play a game down from 60 minutes to 30. Don't worry, you still get just as many bone-crushing hits and long touchdown bombs as last year but smoother gameplay means you spend less time mindlessly browsing through boring menus and more time playing on the field. Instead of reading through scores of different plays, the game itself will now suggest the best possible plays to pick, depending on your situation. If you only need to squeeze out a couple extra yards to make it in for a touchdown then Madden will make sure that you're only picking the right plays. Of course, gamers that prefer the old way of selecting plays can still do that, too.
EA has added plenty of other new features to make this year's edition of the game stand out. Player animations have been re-worked again, meaning that the players move like actual humans rather robotic blobs of flesh and up to six players can get involved in one game at a time in Online Team Play, making the multiplayer Madden experience just as addictive as FIFA 10. Plus, if you play through an entire season and win the Super Bowl at the end of the year, you'll be treated to a video of your team visiting the White House to shake hands with President Obama, present him with replica jersey and make awkward conversation.
There's a Madden 2011 demo available now on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.
