The blood-frenzied, addictive brilliance of Call of Duty: Black Ops might not land in shops ‘til November 9, but ZOO already has a good idea of what we can expect.

This time, the first-person shooter franchise focuses on a small, hand-picked special forces squad carrying out top-secret, wet work missions behind enemy lines in such hotspots as Vietnam, South America, and even freezing your arse off in the Arctic.

Prepare to get your hands dirt with some bad-arse new weaponry, too: introducing the scoped crossbow and the Dragon’s Breath shottie, whose rounds’ll punch a tire-sized hole in your enemies’ torsos before reducing them to smoking ash. You can also bring death from above buy calling in assault helicopters or a Lockheed SR-71 “Blackbird” one of the world’s fastest manned aircraft. Bombs away!

Better yet, the game will be released for PC and all three consoles, including the Wii. And fingers crossed, if Aussie censors let it through, you’ll be able to dismember enemies as well as merely killing them. Ah, yes – how love being desensitized to violence.
